Hello, my name is Jon Edwards. Communications at the Royal Society of Chemistry (@RoySocChem). I like tech, games, jazz and guitars. Some work-related tweets too.
I'm a people person and a strategic thinker - my most rewarding days are the ones where I've empowered my team to succeed and where we've supported colleagues to clarify, plan and achieve their objectives.
As a leader I prefer a coaching, empowering style. I built my current team to include a range of strengths and personalities, and now try to enable them to develop to deliver even more skillfully and confidently.
I've taken leading roles in, and supported others to lead, projects to develop brand and strategy. Working with colleagues, agencies and external stakeholders I've helped to create the bedrock and lifeblood of a strong organisation through a recent strategic brand review/refresh and collaborative strategy projects.
I've significant experience in working closely with senior representatives on strategy development and communications, and in creating influential and inspirational speeches for chief executives and presidents to a wide variety of audiences, from government ministers and EU policymakers to school pupils.
Through several years' PR and media relations experience I built my core skills of key message development, using persuasive, influential language, and helping to craft powerful stories.
