Joel de Ross is a prominent figure within the Australian Virtual Reality Industry. He specializes in how immersive technology applies to the broader music and events industry. He spent most of 2012 - 2014 evangelising VR to local government, universities, angel investors, venture capital and entrepreneurial meetups. These efforts were part of a strategy to foster a healthy VR startup ecosystem and position Melbourne as a leader in the immersive technology sector. He was co organiser of the Melbourne Virtual Reality Meetups, founding member and Vice President of the Australian Virtual Reality Industry Association. He is currently doing a Master of Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Swinburne University of Technology and is advisor to multiple tech startups.
