One of the most useful devices throughout the history of humankind has been the tripod. Ancient civilizations throughout Greece and China used tripod-like devices for cooking, as ornaments, and as altars.
Fast forward to modern times and tripods are still are useful as ever. Any photographer worth their weight knows that a tripod is essential in capturing those memorable pictures. A tripod ensures that a camera has a solid foundation.
Product development in software is similar to using a tripod in photography. You need a solid foundation to increase your chances of success in developing products. In software that process can be distilled down to a three (tripod) pronged approach. Think. Design. Make.
Think is understanding what the problem is and why it matters.
Design is determining a solution and how it solves the problem.
Make is building the solution.
I have used the above approach to successfully deliver SharePoint, .NET, portal and web application solutions.
So, I have my tripod and I know how to use it. What can I help you build?
